  Mr. Oscar Almeida Chabre passed away January 1, 2013.It is with great sorrow that I give you the bad news of the passing of our Honorary Chairman of the Board of Interceramic North America.
Not a good way to start 2013 with this kind of news and just a few weeks away of the passing of Filippo Marazzi.These two persons were exemplary ceramic businessmen.

  Mr. Oscar Almeida was born in 1926 and passed at the age of 86 years.

  Instead of focusing on this bad news I would like to focus more on all the positive things this man did for our company, community, city and country.

  Mr. Oscars life was exemplary, the following is a statement that was written for his 80th Birthday:

   “Your simplicity and humility are bigger than praises and recognition. Your attitude is that of someone who has not done anything extraordinary, but that goes thru life doing simply what is needed.

   Your generosity, that virtue that excels in you, not only has benefited your family, your employees and your business partners but it also touches the groups, institutions and programs that in turn benefit hundreds of community members.”
Mr. Oscar Almeida was the father of our current President of the Board and CEO of Interceramic and founder of our company.

  When I joined Interceramic Mr. Oscar Almeida was the President of the board and Interceramic was only a company manufacturing 300,000 m2 a month in two kilns in Mexico.
Now we have 9 manufacturing facilities in Mexico and USA producing 3,200,000 m2 per month, over 230 stores in Mexico, 14 in USA, 3 in Central America nearly 40 in China and more than 4,000 employees.

  I really want to thank him for the opportunity to join his company and excel as an employee, manager and executive.
